Today I'll do this!

So when Abbi woke up this morning I asked her if she wanted to use the potty. She said, "yes"! I went to check and see if anything had happened, and it had! She styed dry while we ran errands for two hours and then we came home and she took her diaper off and ran around with just pants on. She would come and tell me "potty, potty" and then exclaim "run, run." She went more than twice! We went to the park at around three thirty and she told me twice while she was there that she needed to go, but their bathrooms were "closed for the season". So it wasn't her fault that she didn't make it to the bathroom that time. It was like: Mom, today I'll just wake up and decide to be potty trained!

Abbi - two!

I went over it with Abbi and she had it down....How old are you? She would say two n the cutest voice or "Abbi - two".

Yikes

Kacen has already started cutting teeth. His first two broke through yesterday. He now has two sharp little teeth on his front bottom gum. Kacen was biting down on his daddy yesterday and Paul commented how it felt like he had teeth. I felt it and then made him move his tongue, sure enough they were there. And then he wanted to gnaw on my thumb, Ouch! Those things hurt, but thank goodness he hasn't bitten me while eating!

I love You, You love ME

My children love to call this the Barney Song, because Barney sings it at the end of the show. But anyways... Our Valentines we celebrated with the kids. Paul has Wednesdays off and this year Valentines was on a Wednesday so I figured that it would be too hard to find a babysitter on the actual day. So we went bowling and then went to Denny's for our family activities.

The girls got to put on their Valentines gift from us, cute little shirts. Though they were whining because they wanted our candy and Abbi wanted Mom's lotion. We went at about noon(Me and the girls) to the local grocery store and got Dad a Valentine card from the children, Alona got to pick it out. His treat was a package of Nutter Butter cookies and a dove candy bar. I asked the girls if they wanted to walk, they were real keen on the idea. Alona raced ahead down the sidewalk while I got Abbi in the little one person stroller. We reached Alona, "Mom, I'm tired." I hoisted her up, her bum at the top of the fabric, her legs hanging around Abbi's head and her armpits on my wrists. We were off! "Mom this is a bumpy sidewalk!", Alona said. We raced the 1/4-1/2 mile to the store and Abbi wouldn't get out of the stroller, she loves that thing. Our ride home was just as fun. We got home and Kacen was still sleeping, amazing! His nap ended up being over two hours. Lately his naps have been about twenty minutes. But lets just say he didn't sleep as well last night.

We vacuumed and swept and were off to go bowling and use the last of Alona's gift certificate. It was so fun to watch Abbi, whenever it was her turn she would roll the ball and then get so excited, "Again, again"she would exclaim as she ran back to where the balls came out. Her arms up in the air and her face just glowing.Alona would have a look of disappointment when she didn't knock a pin down on her turn. I tried giving her encouragement, but don't know if I was very successful. I bowled the first four frames and then Kacen was hungry and Paul bowled under my name for the last frames. He has a strong arm, powerful throw!

Then we drove the short distance to Denny's. It was an extremely empty parking lot. We arrived a little after 4 p.m.Alona ordered pancakes and when they got there, "Mom, I wanted chicken!" That child! She tells me that she wants something and then a minute later after she gets it she proclaims that she wanted something else. She did pretty good, she ate most of her big pancake, all of her bacon and some of mine and then half of one of my sausages. But then before we left she was whining because she wanted to eat dessert there. The brownies looked good.

Abbi not so good. She threw a fit about everything, didn't want to eat her food and was screaming horrendously. I hated the stares from one lady, it was like hello haven't you ever seen a child scream before?
We came home and watched The Never Ending Story. Alona seemed to enjoy it, she asked a zillion questions like always. I swear she will be smarter than me soon, she is growing and learning so fast. Paul got the Grudge 2 and the set of the Never Ending Story Part 1 & 2!

Paul got me three different kinds of cucumber melon lotions from bath and body works and a nutmeg and pomegranate candle with a long lighter. One of the lotions was body butter, it actually felt like butter! (So neat) I have yet to light the candle, I am waiting for that chance to relax first.

Pictures to come...I have to get Paul to help me.

Yes Way

Abbi's new phrase for the week is "NO WAY"! No matter what it is, no matter if she wants to do it or not, "NO WAY" is her response. This phrase can get irritating at times, I just keep telling her, "YES, Way".

Week in View

Sunday:Abbi's 105 degree picture. Definitely not the typical hyperactive throw everything Abbi that I usually enjoy the company of. She really wanted to go to church, poor thing.

Monday:I woke up to a surprise, many people in my bed. Two hooligans and my better half all in the same bed with me. Grandma Ruthie came to visit, entertain, help with children, etc. She met me at the doctor's office and watched Alona and Kacen while I was with Abbi getting her checked out again. No flu, ear infection or any other medicine-curable illness. She introduced us to cinna-pie which accompanied delicious papa johns pizza. Paul got the cinna-pie when it had been sitting out for many hours and said it wasn't that great. I'll have to buy one so that he can have one hot, they are soo good! Thank goodness for the sanity that she brought, adult conversation and interaction is the greatest. She stayed until the girls were put in bed and even gave them their bath, Amazing! I should have taken pictures. And she even looked at my scrapbooks. Paul says they look great, you can be a judge.I still need to add captions, words and other decor but this is the beginning of Kacen's baby book. This is my first 12X12 scrapbook and I love it, I love that there is so much more space, much more to work with. I wish that the girls would have been able to have this size, I just didn't have the money when I was doing theirs. Thanks to Ruth's present to me I was able to go to Roberts and get the scrapbook, some paper, stamps, die cuts, stickers and more!
Tuesday: I had a doctor's appt in Murray, Marta watched the girls at the doctor's office for me. Alona missed her computer class because of my appointment. Driving home at 5:30 in the afternoon I had a hard time keeping my eyes open.

Wednesday: family time! Paul's night off of work. I ran around like a chicken with its head cut off. I had to go to get gas in the nissan, copy articles from the Friend and go to the grocery store without Paul. Paul had loads of homework that he still wasn't finished with at 6:30 p.m. when we got home. It was just Smith's for Heaven's sake and it took me over an hour. Abbi was in the cart throwing groceries down on her brother who was peaceful in his car seat. So he woke up and started screaming during the last twenty minutes of our expedition. Then Alona decided to take all of the price tags in the meat section and rearrange them.So I was holding Kacen, had Abbi in the back of the cart and Alona sitting side-ways in the front of the cart(which doesn't work so well when trying to fit the cart through check-out). Then We had to fir in eating dinner, having our lesson, activity and treat for family evening before the girls went to bed. Lets just say that they stayed up way past bed time, but thats okay. We got everything done that we had set out to and managed to have a little fun.

Thursday: I ran away to my sister's house. Even while I was doing this I was wondering if it was a good idea. Alona would miss her computer class again. She is just missing being there, she will have the same lesson waiting for her on the computer when she gets back, there is no teacher and no kids to play with...there is just a director of it that kicks you out when you miss classes and is real ornery. My sister's step-daughter was having her birthday, and okay so that was what I had planned to go down there for and it got cancelled, but she said that I could still come down and so I did. She tried to get her son who is two months older than Alona to write his name by putting frosting all over the table. It was so much fun for all involved except my sister, her son wouldn't try. We ended up staying the night, I was too tired to drive, afraid that I would fall asleep while driving.

Friday: We cleaned up for my sister after using her dishes for breakfast and then headed out for my grandmother's house. We had burger bar for lunch, I love the Big Ben and of course their old-fashioned fries and had to have a shake. Then when we didn't feel welcome any longer we started for home and stopped at Paul's work to say hello! Only 24 hours away from him and I missed him, a lot!! Then we unpacked and had dinner, baths and got ready for bed.

Saturday: I was able to go to the store and get Paul a Valentines gift! I'm not so sure about it though, hopefully it is an ok gift. The children were good, Kacen sucked on his fingers the whole time and only whined a little. I was in a hurry to get in and out so I just reached in and grabbed a bag of Valentine M&M's. I get in the car and after openning them I notice tht it says "dark chocolate." I picked up the wrong bag of M&M's, I love milk chocolate and cannot say the same about dark. All of us except for Alona are currently sick, sinus stuff...a mixture of runny/stuffy nose, watery/red eyes, cough, can't breathe, behind the eyes pain, etc. Alona is a lucky duck.

Abbi is 2 in one week, 10:08 a.m. next Saturday she will be 2! That will be fun! I still need to figure out what I will do about cake and blowin out candles. We are going to Thanksgiving Point for an activity and eating lunch there afterwards.

Pre-Valentines Activities

Heart & Ice Cream cookies! The girls helped me put the ingredients into a bowl and mix it, roll it out and push down the cookie cutters. Alona decorated many of them on her own, hers were easy to distinguish...piles of decor! So cute, I ate one that she decorated just to make her feel good and she did, she smiled. Abbi was more into throwing the sprinkles on the floor and refusing to have help from dad with the knife. So Abbi and dad played blocks, Dad built up the blocks and Abbi had fun kicking them down.
We learned about being a missionary and made missionary cubes. Alona enjoyed cutting hers out and to our surprise she did not cut off any pieces that she needed to be able to glue it all together. She did awesome! Paul is a great help with her in that area, she is left handed I get so confused at how that works. I don't know how to help her, I wish that I was ambidextrous. Abbi wanted to use scissors to, but she didn't want our help she just wanted to stab the paper with the scissors and then when we wanted to take them from her she ran away. She wants so badly to be independent.

Helpless

Paul gave Abbigail a father's blessing, I took her temperature, dun da duh it read104.9 which was rectally which should mean 103.9 orally which is 3.3 degrees past normal. I called urgent care gave Paul directions and address and he rushed out the door. I got a call at 9:30, Her temperature was 105.3 they told me to go to the Emergency Room, Paul says. They said she could have a seizure. Paul calls at 9:35 where's the ER?? He couldn't find it, I couldn't help him. I've never been there before I told him...Can I do anything? I'll find it, Click!
I am a stress eater, lets just say that I am a little stressed. I ate a whole package of graham crackers and two glasses of milk from 8:30 -9:30. Yes, I will be gaining weight this week I am quite sure of it. I don't know how Abbi is doing or what they are doing to her, what they will do to make her better. And yes the wicked thought of will she get better has crossed my mind. That is a killer fever. But I have faith in her becoming better. I couldn't go with her, I had a hungry baby and Alona that needed bed and well Paul doesn't have boobs. So I am flustered and here just waiting for the next Phone Call.

11:00p.m. She is ok! Paul called 5 minutes ago. They gave her motrin, took off her clothes and her fever came down. I don't understand it, I gave her tylenol four different times today even stuck her in a bath to cool her down, nothing worked for us.

It is Possible

For a 3 mo old
breastfed baby
to sleep through the night

Kacen fell asleep last night while eating at about 8:40. He got laid down in his crib at about ten o'clock. Nope I didn't go to bed yet, I did some laundry and took a shower! :) And got ready some food for Paul for when he got home. I was awakened at 2:03 a.m., but wait, NO this was not Kacen. It was my almost two year old Abbigail staring wide eyed at her Mommy (she was sitting on my bed right next to me, not making a sound.). I fed her, gave her a drink, changed her and noticed her fever so I gave her some tylenol and put her back to bed. But while I was doing that Alona looks up at me with her sleepy eyes, "Mom, what are you doing?". So she had to have a bagel, milk and go to the bathroom too! I got back to sleep at about 2:43 and then a hungry little Kacen woke up at 5:40! Yeppers the math is correct, our Little Guy slept 9 hours. I would have really enjoyed getting close to the same, maybe next time he does this Abbi won't be sick, poor thing. It was weird Kacen had slept so long, waited so long to eat I wished that he was even hungrier! Another big milestone.

The Fight is On

Almost every time that I ask Alona to do something she doesn't want to do it. Then Abbi jumps UP! "I'll get it", or "I'll do it". Alona comes back with "I wanted to do thaat". Only after she sees that her sister is eager to help does Alona want to.
It is cute Abbi loves to help, she can clean off the table better than Alona, she is willing to put away Alona's clothes and shoes. Recently, well yesterday Abbi put on her own pants! She can almost put on her own shoes. She is well on her way to being more independent, and getting herself dressed!
